This episode is dedicated to Jihad Productions — a publishing house and record label founded by Amiri Baraka, through which 3 albums were released: Sunny Murray’s “Sonny’s Time Now” Leroi Jones and Sun Ra’s “Black Mass” The Jihad’s “Black and Beautiful .. Soul and Madness”. Which are played in their entirety in this episode, with excerpts of Amiri Baraka interviews in between the albums, where he talks about music. Jihad Productions came out as an outlet for revolutionary black arts and poetry in the late 60s.
